Before the colonization, Ghana was known as a Gold coast and was a highly enriched place with regard to its god ownership. However, many countries later colonized and exploited the resources that they were once rich in. For instance, the Europeans traded their including the valuable metals. They also traded in timber, which was a surplus resource in Ghana at the time. In fact, before this Ghana had never seen slavery. However, with the ruling of Europe, America and especially Britain, slavery was introduced and wel-established within the communities. It was therefore known to be a rich and welathy community earlier and post colonization, the face of the economy and wealth began changing. The intrusion changed the way they lived and their source of livelihood as well. This is because the rich resources were traded in ways that were resourceful to other countries, but compromised on the wealth of Ghana itself. After independence, the people of Ghana picked up the pace of their economy and recollected their lost identity again. The current job market in Ghana is not very promising. The vacancies in public sector are scarce primarily because education is not taken very seriously and the youth at the moment does not have many skills to offer within the job market. Investment in this domain and spreading more awareness about the need to pull up their economy with the help of the youth might helping changing the face their state.
