Descartes kept main focus on importance of belief system of humans. He says that true knowledge can not be obtained through senses only. He says that if we doubt a cause then only we can perceive some insights about that cause.
We should have capability to doubt and also be able enough to find a reason. Ability of pure reasoning is the basis of true knowledge. Belief of any person can not be viewed with a doubtful perspective.
Our beliefs are certain in nature and those beliefs are the true base of our knowledge. Concept of God is also dependent on belief. If we believe in God then we show trust on various supernatural aspects.
Descartes says that God is very important to us because with the God's grace we can know about the important aspects of our lives. If something is too much complex to understand then it means that God does not want us to know about that aspect because that aspect may not be important to us.
I think, this is not right. We should develop a critical thinking. We should have a belief but should also be able to observe something with critical and reasonable thought process. If we remain curious about events taking place in our surroundings then only we can know more and more about this world.
Our own nature is responsible for our knowledge. We keep on observing various aspects through our conscious and unconscious mind. People in our surroundings also become a source of knowledge. Our own nature an nurture determine the process and ability of acquiring knowledge.
