Expert Solution

I agree in totality with Beccaria death penalty assessment. Beccaria argues that the death penalty is a horrendously unjust act and there are better mechanisms such as long punishments for giving the threat to the criminals that could be more effective instead of a painful and quick death. In my opinion the death penalty was not justified during his time, and moreover is not justified now. The charging of criminals with death sentences will be barbaric and the capital punishment would not be effective to bring down a reduction in crime.

I strongly agree with he stated that the death penalty for criminals would be effective when allowing them to live would make them cause more harm to society. Moreover I agree with his assertions that the corporal penalty will not be the only solution for upholding justice in society. I disagree on the arguments when it is stated that the death sentence fails to accomplish its objectives. When criminals suffers punishments, death, committing other crimes would be unheard of from them.
