How can television and computers be used as an educational medium for school-age children?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Both television and computer can be used as an educational medium or learning for school age children.

Television provides a platform where children not only learn through verbal description, but also through visual demonstration of a topic. Thus, children can associate their learning with images and pictures and such audio-visual learning happens at a deeper level.

Children with common behavioural and emotional problems can be taught desired behaviours through a model (observational learning) on T.V. We generally see young students considering actors as their role models and behaving in the same way.

Sex education for teenage students on television would be easier to talk about.

Power Point Presentation (PPT) can be used in the class while teaching school children. Children can also be given assignments where they can show their knowledge and creativity about an issue to other students by making Power Point Presentations.

Computers can also be used as audio-visual medium of education for school children.
