A. Four factors involved in highway crashes:
i) Due to Human behaviour ( i.e lack of skill, vision problem, drinking while driving, talking over mobile phone while driving)
ii) Due to Road geometric factors ( i.e slopes, curves, grades at intersection)
iii) Due to Enviromental factor (i.e bad climate, bad lighting condition)
iv) Due to Vehicle and traffic condition ( i.e execissive traffic flow and density, execissive speed)
B.Grade separated highway : Grade separated highway means the highway which are separated by different height (grade) to create a junction for two or more surface transport axes, for not to obstruct traffic flow when the vehicles crosses each other at different transit routes. The advantages of grade separated highway is freely moving of vehicles with higher speed without any obstruction, disadvantage is costly and large space oriented. Railway, runway, bridges, footpaths, tunnels are constructed with grade separation.
