Why do we need light weight blocks and define its benefits based on its various properties it possess?
Hope it helps.
Light weight blocks i.e. autoclaved aerated concrete (ACC) are used in a building for its properties like thermal resistivity and sound insulation. ACC is generally made up of fly ash with cement, water, aerating material and lime.
Some benefits of light weight blocks are mentioned below
1- The unit weight of block is lesser than brick. So the dead load of a building also reduces.
2- These blocks is also made up of fly ash which is a beneficial for our environment. It uses the recyled waste of industry.
3- The workability and productivity of light weight blocks are much higher than the traditional bricks.
4- Thermal resistant nature of the blocks has made less use of air conditioning and heating appliances. Thus cost reduces.
5-Sound insulation property of AAE gives a acoustic performance and reduces the disturbance/ noise from outside.
6- It need low maintenance and work efficiency increases as well..
