How do you handle your stress? Provide an original example of a stressful experience, and use it to illustrate the definition of stress and the role of cognitive appraisal in stress.
Answer -
I handle stress by evaluating the causes and reasons of stress which makes me anxious and worried. After evaluating the cause I try to find it's solution by sharing it with my family and friends because by sharing it I feel relaxed and positive. Collectively we always find some solution to my problem. The other main thing I do is I do meditation on daily basis which helps me a lot in stressful situations.
Personal example :-
Stress could defined as our reaction to physical or psychological tension. In simple words it emotional or cognitive challenges which we face during hard time.
When I was in school, I used to eat too much junk and oily food due to which I was facing constipation and acidity problem due to which I was not able to study properly and my academic performance was adversely impacted. I was under stressful situations and very worried and anxious that time. Then I consulted a dietitian who advised me healthy diet and some exercise.
Being a foodie person it was not easy for me to adopt healthy
diet structure in my daily routine.
Initially I found too much difficulties and challenges in quitting
oily and junk food. It was difficult for me to avoid tasty food,
however my cholesterol level was high then, I realized that I need
to quit unhealthy food.
As I decided that once in a week I would eat junk and oily food. That day I call as cheat our day. It means only one day I would eat any food and rest of 6 days of week I would eat healthy food like vegetables, fruits, juice, almonds, etc.
