Use your own words to describe four different ways used to develop a project WBS briefly. Then, explain why it is often so difficult to create a good WBS?

Work break down structure (WBS)

WBS is short for Work Break Down Structure. It breaks down the complicated project into different components. It divides the work into multiple sections. This method is used to divide the complex work into multiple tasks. This method can be implemented to break down the high risk and complicated project into simple tasks.

Four different ways

1. Provides structure of the project

This method gives us the structure of the project like where the work begins and ends. It helps us to split the entire project by dividing the major tasks and sub tasks together.

2. Provides understandablity of the project

As the method provides the structure of the each steps that are implemented in the project it helps us to increase the readability of the project through which we can get the clear understandings of the each task that is carried out to complete the project.

3. Provides the vision of delivery

It provides the blue print of what should be devliverd to the client. It provides the clear vision of what is the final work of the project.

4. Major delivery of the project

This the actual final output of the created project. It may be the entire product or the sevice.

Why it is so difficult to create good WBS

WBS is considered as the first thing before starting the project it is also said to be the basement of the project. The WBS has to be created before starting the core works of the project. It is a good practice to have WBS for the project. It is also consider as the frame work or the template of the project which serves as a reference for the project. Before starting to plan the WBS the project manager must have the complete knowledge of the requirements of the project only then the structure can be created with accuracy. WBS must carried out estimations like cost and time of the project, scheduling and controls of the project. A good WBS helps us to increase the performance and the quality of the project.
