What is your percent difference from the manufacturer’s claim for the aspirin content? Explain how our method may have led to such a difference. (Among other things, consider how the solutions were prepared and the difference between the pure ASA solutions and those prepared from the tablet.) ! Discuss two ways to improve the experiment.
Since no data is provided on the experiment, please use following method to calculate the percent difference -
The percent difference between two numbers is the difference of the two numbers divided by their average.
So if you have x aspirin content from the experiment and y aspirin content claimed by manufacturer, then -
or
This difference can be due to experimental error in the results which is caused due to the use of inaccurate glassware, human error, systematic error in the Measurements that will influence the calculations made from the data obtained, glassware not properly rinsed and dried before use, dirt and air on the analytical balance, or the acetyl salicylic acid not fully hydrolysed. The correct safety precautions were adhered to during experimentation. These included handling glassware in a careful and appropriate manner, wearing safety goggles during the heating stage of the experiment.
