Why is public order necessary? Do we have enough public order or too little? How can we tell? What might a large, complex society like ours be like without laws and without a system of criminal justice? Would you want to live in such a society? Why or why not?

Public order is necessary for the safe and sound functioning of the society. Without public orders, the society would be very chaotic and there would be no discipline. This would result in accidents, deaths, corruption, and other forms of losses.

In most of the cases, we do have enough public order. However, literally there is nothing as enough or less public order. It is due to public order that the crime rates are under control, accidents and injuries are under control and also government administration is to a large extent transparent and fair.

Without a system of criminal justice, there would have been an alarming rise in crimes. The lives of people would have been at risk all the time. This would have stagnated the overall economic and social growth. The death rates would have increased. There would have been utter chaos all over.

No, living in such a society would be a very risky affair. Ones life would be at risk all the time. There would not be any scope for education and self growth.
