Peruse the employment section of a newspaper or different online sources. Select five ads which relate to your area of study, and bring them to class. Go to the Discussion Board in Blackboard and answer the following questions:

Where did you find your employment/job ads? Be specific in your answers.

What kinds of employment were primarily available?

List five personality traits or skills which your found were required in several of the ads?

What educational background or work experience was required in most of the ads you read?

I found my employment ads on the online job portal. I did a google search about the job I wanted and I found some. I searched for a profession as a Professor in Psychology, but mostly the primary types of job that was available were the call centeres job. Or in some cases it was about counseling people to buy products. These were the primary job that was available, however I was able to get through few jobs that I wanted.

Five traits that I found that were required were:

Confidence

Good Communication

Good knowledge base

Teaching aptitude

Presentation techniques

These were the five primary skills that were required for the jobs I applied for.

For most of the jobs I went through, required minimum Post-graduation qualification, however Ph.D. was more preferable. And most of the jobs required to atleast have minimum 2 years of experience.

Thus there are the challenges that existed while looking for employment. All the best!
