Expert Solution

Piaget is a very popular name in the context of developmental psychology because of his contribution to moral and cognitive development in particular. Inspite of his theoritical contributions, there are various criticisms which are present against his view of child development.

According to many modern day researchers, the stages proposed by Piaget in context of cognitive development may be completely inaccurate as there have been instances and findings which shows that many children are developing certain skills earlier or later than the time been proposed by Piaget. Some other researchers have criticized his absolute viewpoint of development and have said that the stages proposed might completely be wrong and there can be a lot of expectations present. Some modern researchers have also criticised him by saying that his theory is a bit deterministic and there can be a lot exceptions to the ways in which Piaget has proposed child development.
