1.Restriction enzyme is used to digest the DNA
Where we know that restriction means cut . So these are enzymes which contains specific to particular sequences . They randomly goes and binds and cleave the DNA in that particular sequence specific if exits. If there is no such specific sequence or site in DNA ,it cannot cut and DNA remains same. These enzymes are kept for restriction digestion at particular temperature in a technique like RFLP etc ., One of restriction enzyme is Ecor1.
2.DNA is electrically negative charged.
In gel electrophoresis technique where current is passed in agarose where DNA is negatively charged molecule because of phosphate bond migrate towards the positive charge.
3. 5' GAATTC 3' is the recognition site.
Where EcoR1 is a restriction enzyme it cleaves at a site 5' G/ AATTC3'
3' CTTAA/C5'
It is produced from the e.coli bacteria.
4.VNTR is used to create DNA profiles of individuals.
Where varaiable number of tandem repeats are different in length among different individuals due to which for forensic studies they take VNTR for comparision of different DNA samples.DNA profiles means finger printing technique.
5.Alec jaffreys is the first person to use DNA profiling.
Where he is a scientists who brought the fingerprinting for the first time. Where he introduced many fingerprinting techniques in his work. For which he was awarded Einstein award of science.
