Core functions of the public health include-

Assessment- It involves monitoring the environmental factors and status of health in order to identify community health problems while also diagnosing and investigating the health hazards in a particular community.

Policy development- this refers to informing, educating and empowering individuals about particular health issues and mobilizing community partnerships to identify and solve their health problems. It also refers to developing policies which can support people of the community in their efforts to have better health.

Assurance- this refers to enforcement laws and regulations which protect the health and security of a community's requirements. It also helps in linking people to the particular services required for them and by them which also shows that the provision of Health Care is available to everyone.

All these core functions of Public Health work in a cycle and are dependent on each other which can be explained with the use of this image-
