1. Please name for me five to ten occupations that are among the ‘hardest hit’ by the pandemic in terms of workers losing wage income starting in March, 2020. 2. Please name for me five to ten occupations that are---or appear to be—the ‘least’ hardest hit by the pandemic in terms of lost wages 3. Are there any differences you can see, generally speaking, between the groups you listed in question 1 and in question 2? A college education? The nature of the job itself? How so? Membership in a union? 4. What is a union, exactly? Please name some occupations that tend to be ‘unionized’ in our country. Please name some of the largest unions in the U.S. and Santa Clara County. 5. How far should our government (G) go in order to try to “make whole” the workers in question #1? 1. Occupations severly hit by Covid 19 are restaurants and pubs, gyms, malls, movie theatres., Casinos and laborers earning daily wages.

2.Least hit professions are online teaching as with closure of schools online teaching is in demand, medical staff like nurses, doctors , physicians as there need is increased due to increase healthcare facilities, corporate employees as they can work from home due to lockdown, police department as there need has arisen , pharmicist as people require medicines due to increased diseases.

3 The main difference is the need of hour. As Covid 19 spread from human to human so all the sources of entertainment like gyms, pubs etc have been closed as thease are not part of essential services. Whereas professions related to supply of essential services like medicines, healthcare, law and order are least affected. Jobs that can be conducted online without human interaction is also least affected.

4 A Union is a group of people working together to improve their work lives through collective bargaining. It is formed to safeguard interest of members against exploitation.
