A rationale for why each movement is/was considered essential to understanding human behavior and experiences. (Psychoanalysis, Behaviorism, and Humanistic/Transpersonal/Existential (HTE) Psychology)
Psychoanalysis was an important step in the realm for psychology as Freud showed the world that it was not only important to give emphasis to the conscious mind or the clear mind, but also the unconscious mind, the submerged and repressed part of an individual as most problems and solutions for those problems were locked there.
Behaviorism was an important movement as well, as the link between behavior and emotional state of being was undermined for a long time, till it was discovered that behavior, the overt, affect the emotions, which is the covert, and the modulation of behavior could help modulate the emotions.
HTE psychology was a reobultionary movement as well, as most of the therapy sessions previously were more guided by the health professional than by the patient, but humanistic approach changed that perspective by introducing the concept of client centered therapy, which was of the belief that the client knows self better and only need slight guidance and a helping hand to help realise their problems and thus solutions.
