Select one:

b. dispositional; self-serving bias
c. situational; self-serving bias
d. dispositional; fundamental attribution error

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer is (d) Dispositional, Fundamental attribution error

Dispositional Factors- These are also known as internal factors, they are related with a person`s characteristics shaped by genetics or other factors around him/her.

Fundamental attribution error- In determining the cause of others behavior , we overemphasize their personality or characteristic or internal factors, this is fundamental attribution error. In fundamental attribution error we fail to understand the situational factors responsible for their behavior.

Example- You got very good marks in exam and you want to tell it to your school gardener but he shows no response then you might think that he is not happy about knowing your good result and he is annoying, but it may be one reason that someone in his family passed away or some bad news for him. Here you fail to understand the situational factor responsible for his behavior and overemphasize his dispositional factors.
