Explain the responsibilities of marketers to protect customer privacy and data security.
Marketing techniques and technology have evolved to an extent that it permits marketers to collect and analyze detailed data describing the customers. While this is beneficial to better providing for the needs and wants of consumers, it also leads to concerns about privacy and security. Have students discuss their concerns. List these concerns as either major or minor concerns and discuss the potential risks associated with them both for the consumer and the organization.
