true or false
Censoring a message is a characteristic of filtering.
According to Fielder's contingency model, task-oriented leaders are always most likely to be succesful.
A) Censoring a message is a characteristic of filtering.
In order to answer the statement with true or false, it is important to understand what these two terms mean. Filtering means to intentionally present the right words as a process of communication. Communication uses set of words, actions and gestures. There are verbal and non-verbal communication. However, filtration in communication is used to intentionally chose the right words, in order to derive at a probable communication by the communicator without enticing (hate, anger, abuse, etc) the other party who is in the process of communication.
This makes it clear that Censoring is a characteristic of Filtering. Censors in communication are used to omit certain words that may entice hate, anger, abuse etc... to the one who is being communicated to. Censors are also used to protect the right of children, especially in movies, when the movies contain languages that are abusive, hatred etc.., they are censored in order to protect the children from being subjected to those words.
Thus, it is true that censoring a message is a characteristic of filtering.
B) According to Fielder's contingency model, task-oriented leaders are always most likely to be succesful.
Leadership means to influence a group towards the achievement of a desired goal. The one who is able to influence and has the ability to solve problems and makes decision and is focused towards a certain goal is an efficient leader.
According to Fielder’s Contingency Model, he makes a distinction between two types of leaders. Relationship oriented leaders and Task-oriented leaders. Task oriented leaders are good at performing the given project, tasks very well and are able effectively bring profits. But relationship oriented leaders are able to effectively communicate their ideas to people making them to solve much more complex problems easily.
Thus concluding that task-oriented leaders though are powerful in getting the tasks done, are not considered to be successful. Therefore, it not true that task-oriented leaders are always most likely to be successful.
