Irrespective of what the system is, what are the top three practices/habits you would follow to secure your server? Please explain

The top three practices are

1. Regular software update and security audits

To ensure the best security of your sever you should practice to perform regular security audits on you servers to find any unknown vulnerability of your servers and regular software updates is also necessary to secure the servers because the unpatched system are very much vulnerable.

2. Good network firewall with IDS and IPS system and antiviruses and malware detector

A firewall is a first defence from any attack so it should be best and enabled with IDS (Intrusion detection system) and IPS (Intrusion prevention system ) and antimalware software or spyware or adware should be enabled at server side

3. Physical security

Apart from the logical security physical security is also a big concern if there is no physical security so anyone can access the servers physically. Physical security should be there like only authorised person can enter the server rooms ,there shoud be a biometric system to enter the server room ,security guards must be deploy there and maintaining of logs that who enter the servers room at what date and time
