An MA who is morbidly obese is interviewed for a position as a clinic assistant. The receptionist sarcastically comments to the clinic manager, "That's a good role model to have in a cardiologist's office."

What effect, if any, does the obesity of this candidate have on the likelihood of being hired? What legal ramifications must be kept in mind?

1 if hired while, visiting or contacting patients with heart problems and it's complications he may get encouraged for weight reduction, and life style modifications which would effect positivity.

If he feels disheartened there is a chance that he may get depression and drop the job .

Legally for hiring him as a cardiologist 's assistant is not a problem, but he should always be encouraged, not to be insulted by words or deeds which demean him then he can go to the court.
