Professionals have a multitude of training techniques to choose from. Describe four training methods. Next, provide an example of the type of training that each technique does well (recall; understanding; application)
Training methods can be described into two major types On the job (Actual work site) and Off the Job ( Away from the work site) . Now, we shall discuss four methods,
1) Lecture method:
It comes under off the job method, in these necessary skills, knowledge and abilities will be delivered through classroom discussion. It is suitable for that organization where larger no. of employees is working.
Example:
New, sales manager can be trained with this method. They might be given product training, prospect handling training etc.
2) Role plays method:
It will be useful for new employees. They will understand the duties and responsibilities of various posts by assuming to work for the same profile.
Example: A mock negotiation deal can be practiced by assigning people to play the role of opponent. An actual discussion might be handled well if this will happen.
3) Apprenticeship:
In this a trainee employee will be assigned to work with a senior person. It helps to make ready people to take new role in factory or plant.
Example: A new trainee can be assigned to work under civil engineer who will guide an incumbent to learn a lot of techniques.
4) Vestibule training:
In this training, real work equipments, machinery, work like situations etc, might be produced by the organization to train the people.
Example: It helps an organization to train and develop people where it will be risky to directly post a person on the job. Aircraft maintenance, surgery etc. can be really taught to the trainees by utilizing these methods.
