Take a moment to summarize how we send information of equilibrium and head position from the inner ear to the vestibulocochlear nerve.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer;

  • The inner ear contains a complex called Vestibular appratus,located above cochlea which is concerned with hearing.The vestibular apparatus is related with the maintenance of body balance.
  • Both static and dynamic balance are regulated by vestubular appratus.
  • Vestibular apparatus include saccule & utricle and semicircular canals.
  1. Saccule & Utricle
  • senses the change in position of head in relation to force of gravity.
  • They control vertical or linear balance of body

2.Semicircular canals

  • They detects rotational movement of body or head due to presence of 3 semicircular canals at right angle to each other and is filled with a fluid called endolymph.
  • When fluid from any canal moves then signal for dynamic balance is send to brain.

How long does it take to send a 15 MiB file from Host A to Host B over a circuit-switched network, assuming: - Total link transmission rate = 49.7 Gbps. - Network is FDM, with 7 permitted users, each with an equal bandwidth share. - A link connection requires a setup time of 84.5 ms. Your answer should be in miliseconds (ms) with one decimal place, and without the unit (e.g. "140.6" without the quotes)

Let's take a moment to make some connections in the material we have been exploring for the last several weeks. First, examine the decision-making model introduced on page 148 of our textbook. As mentioned in our textbook, this model reflects the "five steps necessary to make an informed and desirable decision" (Sukiennik & Raufman, 2016,p. 148). The first step is to define a goal. Return to this discussion to share one clearly defined personal goal along with specific objectives to...

A simple pendulum is displaced to the left of its equilibrium position and is released from rest. Set the origin of the coordinate system at the equilibrium position of the pendulum, and let counterclockwise be the positive angular direction. Assume air resistance is so small that it can be ignored. Part A: Beginning the instant the pendulum is released, select the graph that best matches the angular position vs. time graph for the pendulum. Part B:Beginning the instant the object...

Take a moment and reflect on what you've learned from chapters 12-13 and use this knowledge to investigate how the new Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine might work to stimulate the immune system. Discuss how the mRNA-based vaccine strategy may effectively induce BOTH a humoral and cellular immune response and talk about the key players. You'll need to take some time to learn a bit more about the vaccine if you're unfamiliar with the mRNA-based approach before answering this question.
