Explain in what sense Rachels thinks the relationship between religion and morality is like the relation between religion and science. Do you agree with him about this? Why?

Solutions

Expert Solution

According to Rachles , morality doesn't depent on religion but it depends on our reasoning power .we are deliberately which is good and which one is bad on the basis of consquence where religion describe good moral values are those which is acepted by God and bad values are those which are rejected by God.so the relationship between religious and morality are independent though they are going in same track.

On the other hand , the main objective of science is develoment of human life comfortably and eliminate all those things which make discomfort human life .Religion is also way of life in peacefully and not allowed those things which harmfull for human welfare.in this prespctive , secince are based on objectivity and religion are based on subjectivity but their main motto is to human welfare and peaceful living .so it is clear that the relationship between religion and moral values like the relationship between secince and religion.

step-2

Yes I am agree with him .

Religious and secience are independent relationship .Religion is developed to guide human life and for man kind through ethical values and considered merciful God have super natural power .people believe religion because they know religion is only way which creates harmony of life and purifying our soul through spiritual develoment.so believe , faith and worship of God for living peacefully is a religion .

But people believe in secience are not accept the natural evolution which is mentioned by religion Because secience are based on practical sense and objectivity and logical beliefs not any subjectivity .It is true that both purpose are serving human development and mankind but process is different just like morality is based on reasoning thought and expeerince of consequences not religion .

Religion is not regain it's old power until it can face change the same spirit as does science .so we can easily understand what kind relationship exist between two sphere.
