As we know Suhei Hammad is a Palestine origin feminsit poet currently based in America . Her work is reflection of her culture and acceptance. In the poem Hammad has portrayed and explained women as a bird who is very delicate and fragile . The bird is imprisoned in the cage . The cage is under the control of men . She clearly says that women are not your pets or under control . We can take an example from her poem in which she says " Not your Harem girl geisha doll banana picker “. In the poem the men perspective of women is also discussed . It shows how men treat women in a disrespectful and demeaning way .She portrays how women are categorized in a male dominated words and how the word has become a prison for women.

                                            She explains the everyday ordeal women have to face and questions the patriarchal system which suppresses women and their desires . She has clearly pointed out the situation of women is similar in all over the world independent of their race . How the world is designed for men and how women are told to adjust according to their beliefs . The poem relfetfs the misgynistic and sexitst viepont of the male dominated world .
