Expert Solution

The process is diffusion due to which the smell of perfume spread throughout the class. The molecules of perfume bind to the olfactory neurons lining the inner nose membrane and through olfactory G-proteins mediated through G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR), signals are send to the brain as a result of which everyone was able to smell the perfume.
