Name and describe 3 types of community interactions and give examples.
The community is a one of the biotic component of ecosystem. It consist of different population of various species which are living together and interact with each other. This interaction between different species of community is known as the community interactions. The most popular 3 type of community interactions are as follows:
A. Competition B. Predation C. Symbiotic [i. Symbiosis. 2.Mutualism.3. Commensalism 4. Parasitism]
A. Competition: is the type of relationship between various organisms which are strive for the same limited resource. Two type of competition:
1. The intraspecific competition which occurs in the member of same species of the same ecological area. Example: Competition between leopards and lions to catch similar prey
2. Intraspecific competition which occurs in between members of different species of the same ecological area. Example: competition is between lions and tigers that catch for similar prey
B. Predation: is a relationship in which members of one species consumes members of other species. Dominant is Predator and weak is prey. Example: Lions predate on buffalo.
C. Symbiotic relationship: It the type of interaction in which two species live very close to each other. Out of these two species, one is at least one got benefits, and for the second species the result of symbiosis may be positive, negative or neutral.
Mutualism: Both species are equally benefited. example oxpecker and the rhinoceros.
Commensalism: is a type of community interaction in which organism is highly befitted but second is not harmed or damaged by this relationship. Another side we can say that it is a one-sided symbiotic relationship. Example: Relationship between cattle egrets and cattle.
Parasitism: one species benefited and second is harmed in this type of relationship. Example: Fleas or ticks that live on dogs and cats are parasites
