Applications of Statistical Process Control and Quality Improvement Tools in Transactional and
Service Business.
The tools are:
1. Cause and Effect Analysis.
2. Check sheets/ tally sheets.
3. Graphs.
4. Histograms.
5. Pareto analysis.
6. Scatter analysis.
7. Control charts.
. For discussion, I want you to discuss how these tools are being used in your realm of work? If they are not
being used, then how do you see them being used? Identify at least one tool being used and explain
how it is being used in your realm of work, and identify at least one tool that is not being used and how
it may be used to benefit your job.
(Note: The answer has to be typed, not hand written nor a picture.) Thank you.
I am working in the field of Safety engineering. Here our objective is to improve safety at workplace. For that we need to identify various kinds of hzards that are presents in the work place and have potentials to actualise any accidents or incidents.
Explaining the same, I want to highlight here that, Pareto analysis is one of the tool that we use very frequently. After identifying hazards, we concentrate on identification on failure modes and effect analysis from the hazards analysis. Using pareto analysis, we find the most significant failure modes of that particular workplace, it may be section or department. This analysis provides us basis where to put more resources for improving safety.
After identifying significant failure modes, we need to further dig down them to identify their causes. That portion we have not started yet. But after identifying significant failure modes we will go for fault tree and event tree that is bow-tie analysis. Through this analysis we will get to know the basic causes that are responsible for the actualisation of the failure modes and along with the effect of that failure modes. For that we want to go for cause and effect analysis. This is the that I have not used but it will help me in conducting subsequent analysis
