Which ASTM (type 1-5) cement is most appropriate for the following construction applications? What types of mineral and/or chemical admixtures could be used for each application? Give reasons for your choices: Construction of a transfer plate with a thickness of 2 metres.

Type- 4 ( Low heat Portland cement)

Admixtures - Pozzolans- VCAS, Metakaolin, fly ash, silica

PPC or( Portlant Pozzolana cement) is best suited for transfer plate because of following reasons:

-This has a lower heat of hydration which is great for transfer plates because transfer plates are usually very large and heavy, the thickness is given as 2m which weighs almost 2000-3000 tons (if considering area 600m2). And using a low heat of hydration cement will ensure resistance to cracks and shrinkage. Therefore Type 4.

- I would like to use VCAS or Metakaolin as an admixture because these product's consistency is up to mark and it enhances workability finely. These admixture do nothing but decrease w/c ratio which results: Density increases, efflorescence decrease, strengthen the concrete more, so it's favourable to use them.
