Why are multi-frequency GNSS receivers preferred for high accuracy control surveys? Thoroughly explain your answer.
* GNSS-GLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEM
IS A RECEIVER SYSTEM WHICH HELPS IN CALCUALTING VELOCITY,POSITION (LOCATION) AND TIME. THIS CALCULATION IS DONE BY RECEIVING THE SATELLITE SIGNALS RELEASED FROM MULTIPLE NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEMS.
GNSS HAS HIGH INFLUENCE O SURVEYING, WE ALL KNOW THAT SURVEYING HAS MANY OTHER DEPARTMENTS LIKE MAPPING, MINING ENGINEERING,AGRICULTURE, HYDROGRAPH ETC.
FOR THE ABOVE APPLICATIONS THE GEODETIC DATA IS NEEDED AT MICROSCALE LEVEL FOR HIGH ACCURACY IN MILLIMETRES TO CENTIMETRES BASED ON THE APPLICATION LEVEL AND THE PURPOSE . SO THIS ACCURACY OF POSITION OR OTHER AREAS OF INTREST CAN OBTAINED BY GNSS.
GPS THOUGH ITS REVOLUTIONARY POSITIONING SYSTEM BUT THERE ARE AREAS WHERE GPS DOSENOT WORK WHICH IS DUE TO THE LACK OF AVALABILITY OF SATELLITE. GNSS PLAYS MAJOR ROLE IN FUTURE WITH COMBINATION OF NUMBER OF SUBSYSTEMS.
THE FUTURE GNSS SYSTEM WILL HAVE THE ONGOING AND FUTURE PLANNED EUROPE, US, CHINA AND RUSSIAN GNSS AND WITH SEVERAL OTHER REGIONAL SATELLITE SYSTEM. THIS COMBINED SYSTEM WILL TRACK ALL OR MOST OF THE BROADCAST SIGNALS AND THIS WILL ENHANCE THE SURVEYING TECHNOLOGY IN FUTURE.
