You need to study the satisfaction of customers of a specific restaurant. You decide to order food and talk to those customers sitting next to you. This would most closely describe which type of sampling technique?
Convenience |
Systematic |
Stratified |
Random |
Convenience sampling is a type of non-probability sampling that involves the sample being drawn from that part of the population that is close to hand.
Systematic sampling is a statistical method involving the selection of elements from an ordered sampling frame. The most common form of systematic sampling is an equiprobability method. In this approach, progression through the list is treated circularly, with a return to the top once the end of the list is passed.
With stratified sampling, the researcher divides the population into separate groups, called strata. Then, a probability sample (often a simple random sample ) is drawn from each group.
Random sampling is a procedure for sampling from a population in which (a) the selection of a sampleunit is based on chance and (b) every element of the population has a known, non-zero probability of being selected.
Based on all the above definition
Answer for given scenario is Convenience sampling
