1. Scenario: A local park is being converted into a COVID-19 testing site. Describe the internal and external stakeholders, and their importance.
2. Why is it important for a project manager to access the performance of individual team members and the project team as a whole?
3. Describe a possible imbalance between a project manager's authority and responsibility. What type of impact could it have on the project?
Answer 1= The internal stakeholders will be the testing staff and the management of the testing site. They are important as they have to manage the testing in the open park and they need to take care that no incidence of spreading of the COIVD 19 virus results due to the inappropriate storing of tests and samples.
The external stakeholders are the local authorities, the people who were using the parks, the people living near to the park. They are important as local authorities have to manage the inflow and the sanitization of the park to avoid the infection. The people using the parks are important as they will no longer be using it and they may have a concern about the spread of the virus, while the people living near to the park will also have the concern of the spread of the virus of samples are not managed carefully.
Answer 2= evaluation of the performance of the individual team members and the project team as a whole is important as if every team member performs the assigned task and duties, it will result in the accomplishment of the project goals easily as the combined efforts will result in improved performance. While the evaluation of the entire team is important as it will put pressure on the team members to help and assist those members who are facing some issues in performing their tasks so that the overall performance of the team can be improved.
Answer 3= The project manager may have the authority of allocating the responsibilities and tasks to the different employees or team members and his responsibility will indicate that he has to facilitate these responsibilities in such a way that the team can accomplish the goal easily.
The one typical scenario where both of these concepts can collide is when the project manager assigns the task to the team members on the basis of his preference rather than the ability and performance level of the member and this will have the negative impact on the overall goal accomplishment of the project as the authority to allocate the work has been misused by the manager and the responsibility to ensure the accomplishment of the team goals was ignored.
