We often hear people complain about how employees exhibit poor behaviors in the workplace, particularly in recent years. Share with the class one thing you have observed in a place of business (either where you work or a place you patronize) that stood out to you as something that you feel is common, but unacceptable. (I’d share my “pet peeve” as an example, but it might be one of yours.) All posts should be anonymous and g-rated, as always please.
Workplace hygiene has become a very important aspect in an organization and the management of the organizations are generally very much sensitive and serious about such cases there are some responsibilities that each and every employee needs to have so that the basic norms and environment is maintained. One such incident in my workplace that was quite common in most of the organizations but is unacceptable was coming late to meetings. Generally we worked in an Agile methodology with consisted of scrum ceremonies that included daily stand up meeting for 15 minutes twice and there was the customary sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospection and demonstration. This ceremonies we re to ensure that all the stakeholders are in the same phase of the business and also to reduce issues and miscommunications. These ceremonies may seem unimportant but were very much important and mandatory based on the methodologies and the whole team had to be present but on most of the days there were individuals who did not attend the meetings. This can be stated as common but I believe that it was unacceptable because when the team was following a methodology then it had to abide by the ceremonies of the methodology as well which was expected.
