Ans a-)When an acid is added to the water, the concentration of hydrogen ion increases. Thereby, decreasing the pH of water and hence an increase in acidity. As the carbon dioxide is decomposed to form carbonic acid, which on dissociation will release the concentration of hydrogen ions in water.
Ans b-)When an acid is added to buffer
solutiom:
Buffer solution is formed by a strong acid and weak base. Buffer
resist a change in pH. if we add the strong acid in buffer
solution, the weak base undergoes a reaction and it will react with
the hydrogen ions to form a weak acid.
In this case, the hydrogen ions produced will not react with water
and thus H3O will not be produced. Instead, they are readily
absorbed by A- and thus the pH will slightly change.
Ans c-)Piperine an active compound of Pepper
has anti-inflammatory, antigenotoxic, antidepressant and
antioxidant properties.
Also, piperine have phenolic and flavonoid content in them which
helps to inhibit reactive oxygen species and free radicals.
In order to function optimally, the pH should be maintained and the
major role is played by buffer as they resist the change in pH of
solution when any acid or base is added to it. Various cellular
activities are affected like the growth of cell, substance
movement, membrane potential and metabolic processes.
