Compare the key structural elements of the House of Representatives and the Senate under the Constitution.
I just need bullet points of each key structural element, I don't know what they are and I can't find a straight answer.
The framers of the US constitution created a bicameral legislature for the country. A bicameral legislature has two houses- lower house ( House of representatives), and upper house ( Senate ).
Following are the key structural elements of the House of Representatives:-
( I ) This house is also called people's house as it is most responsive part of the government to the public.
( II ) Representatives are elected on the basis of population. However, each state can have at least one representative.
( III ) Reelection takes place every two years in order to ensure the members stay responsive to the people.
( IV ) Leader of the house is also made the speaker of the house.
Following are the key structural elements of the Senate:-
( I ) The upper house is a house where one-third of the members are elected every two years.
( II ) Framers of the constitution wanted an upper house to have a check on excessive democracy.
( III ) Every state has two senate members.
( IV ) The house is considered as a house with experience and wisdom.
