An energy bill on the floor of the House of Representatives is proposed by a congressperson from Nebraska that would require all cars to use fuel that contains at least 15% ethanol, derived from corn. A northeastern state representative raises the concerns that corn is best for cattle, food, and exports, and that not all cars of today are prepared to use such a fuel. Respond how you would vote on this issue and the reasoning behind your vote in a 100-word essay

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ethanol is a potential Biofuel. Ethanol can reduce the toxic emissions that pollute urban environments.

I vote in favour of House of representatives !

Pollution has become a major problem in urban habitat. Biofuel is the next generation and establishment of ethanol based fuel is quintessential in order to protect fuels for future generations. We not only save ourselves from pollution but also save non-renewable energy sources and hence creating a balance in the geological prospect should become our primary motive !

Feeding cattle is equally necesssary as they have become the eco-centre of our comtemporary food. We should look out for alternative solutions like improving corn production using genetic engineering etc. thus reducing farm fields necessary for growing corn to feed cattle. Also ethanol can be produced by several biological waste materials, not just corn ! We should develop technologies that help us use natural bio-waste like fallen tree leaves, sea weeds etc to produce ethanol !

Hence I strongly support replacing non-renewable fuels with ethanol !

About a decade ago, the incoming Republicans in the House of Representatives said they would institute a new practice. They could decide to do this because they were in the majority. The plan was that, before a new session began, Republican members would read the US Constitution aloud.
