According to me maturity models in project managent are thoese methods by which project manaer & team can improve the performance of the project even after its maturity. there are some maturity model in project management like-

Center for business practices	Kerzner’s project management maturity model
ESI International’s project framework	SEI’s capability maturity model integration

all of them are good models but we are gonna discuss about only one as per the given question-

Kerzner’s project management maturity model- this model in project management is very improtant because by implementing this project can be improved even further. project manager can anlyse the pros(strengths) & cons(weaknesses) of the project & improve them by implementing this model.

this model was given by Dr. Harold Kerzner. this model is mainly focused on the qualitative aspects like trust, team work, communiaction, coordination, performance etc. this model assumes that only quantitative improvement can not increase maturity in project management but there should be qualitative improvement in managing the project.

for example-

communication should be good- project manager asks a team member to give project guidelines to other team members orally & that member conveys the message but that message was incomplete as he forgot to tell some information. this was a error in communication. so, this model describes that communication short or long should be effective. manaager should use written method to convey important messages related to project.

more focus on cooperation- project management is not individual task but it is group task.so there has to cooperation among the project team & manager.

build trust & work in a team- as there are so many members in a team so there is gonna be conflicts among them which may reduce the performance of project. so this maturity model focuses on having trust while working in a team.
