I need assistance with writing a conclusion of antiviral medications: Oseltamivir, Zanamivir, Amantadine and Peramivir.

• Discuss differences between antiviral medications and how chemical make up can effect different types of viruses.

Ans ) Difference between above mentioned antiviral medications are :-

Oseltamivir:-

Its major property to prevent flu viruses from spreading from infected to healthy cells by inhibits the NA activity and therefore also knowns as NA inhibitor .

• Flu virus types A and B
• Flu virus types A and B prevention
• Bird flu
• Bird flu prevention.
• Pill form is available as a generic.
• It's molecular formula is C₁₆H₂₈N₂O₄ and molar mass is 312.4 g/mol.
• Available in two different forms: capsule and liquid.
• It can be used for treatment in children 2 weeks of age and older
• No respiratory distress
• Qyt of (2×75 mg) is used for treatment of influenza .
• Oseltamivir may be less effective as a treatment for influenza B than for influenza A.
• It is taken for a short period of time to treat the flu: twice a day for 5 days. symptoms of the flu by 1.3 days.
• Not recommended for people with kidney problems.
• Must be taken within 2 days of contact with an infected person, or signs of flu symptoms for Tamiflu (oseltamivir) to be effective

Effects:-

• It cause stomach side effects like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Zanamivir:-

It is basically used to treat symptoms caused by the flu virus for 2 days or less. It is taken as an inhaler.And the inhaler nature is difficult to use .Its molecular Formula is  C₁₂H₂₀N₄O₇ and Molar mass is 332.31 g/mol

Reduced the duration of influenza A and influenza B symptoms by about one day.

Respiratory distress

Temperature normalization in the patient is faster,P=0.0157

Qyt of (2×5 mg) is used for treatment of influenza

Amantadine:-

• It is used for influenza A virus.
• It is used for brain injury

• It's Formula is C₁₀H₁₇​​​​​N and Molar mass is 151.249 g/mol

• Restless legs syndrome

• Its usage should be avoided by asthma patients and of age 65 years or older
• Symmetrel can be taken by itself or with other medicines to treat the symptoms of early Parkinson's disease, including muscle spasms, tremors, and difficulty with movements.
• Symmetrel (amantadine) is available in generic and in both a pill and liquid form.
• Compared to other medicines for Parkinson's disease, the side effects are relatively mild.
• Less expensive
• In some situations ,has to be taken multiple times a day.

1. Blurred vision, Drowsiness, headache, drymouth,nausea

Peramivir:-

• It is used to treat influenza.
• Its molecular formula is C₁₅H₂₈N₄O₄ and molecular weight is 328.41 g/mol.
• Influenza in patients of age 18 years and older and have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days.

Effects:-

• Difficulty swallowing, irritated eyes
• Hives, itching, skin rash and loosening of skin
