kindly provide the pros and con allong with their properties such as input impedence and output impedence , no derivations just knwoledge of the following op amps

1-inverting amplifier

2-non-inverting

3-summer amplifier
4-voltage follower

5-op amp difference amplifier

6-integrator op amp

7- differentiator op amp.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Inverting amplifier.

Inteverting amplifier has input to inverting terminal and at non inverting terminal the feedback is used.

Advantages.

  • It has low input impedence.
  • It has high gain.
  • The difference between terminal is low.
  • The output and input are in phase with each other.

Disadvantages.

  • It is difficult to maintain distortionless feedback.
  • Input must be pure without noise.

Non inverting amplifier.

The input is at non inverting terminal and output at feedback.

Advantages

  • It is used without phase inversion.
  • Input impedence is high.
  • It has positive voltage gain.

Disadvantage

  • If more stages is used gain is difficult.
  • Input and output resistance is varied.

summing amplifier

In summing amplifier the voltage is obtained by summing of difference voltage.

Advantage.

  • It has infinite input resistance
  • It has reduced loss.

Disadvantage.

  • The value is not ideal due to variation of feedback and input resistor.
  • It is used only for small number of bits.

Voltage follower

It is also known as buffer with unity voltage gain. Input is fed back to output without gain.

Advantages-

  • It has current and power gain.
  • It has low output impedence.
  • Loading effect is avoided.

Disadvantage

It has no amplification no voltage gain.

Difference amplifier.

It is used to obtain the difference between two input signal. The gained is varied by resistor.

Advantages.

  • It has noise cancellation property.
  • It reduces external interferance.
  • Increases CMRR.

Disadvantages.

  • It is complex in nature.
  • It needs proper biasing.

Integrator opamp.

The integrator is used to perform the mathematical operation. It forms basic of first order filter. It also measures electrical charge.

Disadvantage.

  • It has very small bandwidth used for small range of frequency.
  • It has infinite gain.

Advantage

  • It has large time constant with accurate input signal.

Differentiator opamp.

It performs differentiator operations of the input.

Advantages.

  • Small time constant is used for differentiation.

Disadvantage.

  • It has larger gain at larger frequency thus at very large frequency it becomes unstable and reach saturation.
  • As input impedence is increased and frequency increased leads to sensitivity to noise.
