Solution: Impact test

This test is used to observe the mechanics of the material when sudden loading is act on the material in which deformation ,fracturing of the material is takes place and transfer of energy also takes place which is studied further for the better understanding of material.

Types of impact test:

1)Tensile impact test: This test is used to determine the amount of tensile Stress needed to break the specimen.

This is the process how the specimen is broke.

2) Charpy Impact test: It determines the amount of energy absorbed required to break the specimen. It is done by high strain rate method.It is also called as Charpy Impact V notch test as the notch toughness is determined here.
