Occupational safety and health Act.: This act is administered by occupational safety as well as health administration.The aim of this act is to ensure safe and healthy working conditions for employees working in both private as well as public sector. The employers covered under this act must comply with health and safety standards that are being laid down by OSHA. It is the duty of employer under the act to provide its employees a workplace which is free from serious hazards and there is no risk for them within the organization as far as their health and safety is concerned. The act is very stringent when it comes to health and safety of employees working under employers. OSHA implements its rules and regulations by continuous inspection as well as investigations in an effective way. The act also ensures that any assistance which is needed by the employer for enforcement of this act is provided to them in an effective and appropriate manner. So far the Act has remain successful and has gained widespread recognition from the employees from the time of its inception There are necessary provision with regards to punishment to employer in case of non compliance with the act.
Federal Employees compensation Act. (FECA) : This act creates ensures a comprehensive as well as exclusive program for compensation of workers. The act ensure that compensation is being paid to federal employee in case of death or disability sustained by him in the form of personal injury while performing his duty. The act is administered by OWCP, the aim is to provide benefits for wage loss, providing necessary compensation in case a employee has suffered a total or partial disability. It is also engaged in providing necessary vocational rehabilitation and related medical costs in case of disability or death of individual. The act aims to ensure that federal employee's rights are protected and they are getting necessary benefits for the job that they are doing in the longer run. The act covers all federal employees, however, private sector employees are out of the scope of this act, this is because it is primarily aimed at providing necessary job related benefits to only federal employees.
