cell converts chemical energy into mechanical force when moving.Cell migration is done by three molecules working together. Integrins are molecules present on the cell surface that are able to connect themselves to other surfaces. Actin present inside of the cell membrane,which together form the skeleton of the cell. and the adaptor i.e is a protein that links integrin and actin together.

adaptor is used to binds the actin and integrin, the mechanical force from actin makes the integrin molecule to connect itself to a nearby partner surface, through which the cell can move slightly forward. after the cell's migration is complete, the integrin and actin molecules separate from each other in this part of the cell, while another part of the cell becomes active.
