Expert Solution

A training set is the tool used to train the candidate, Its objective is to educate or articulate the candidate to impart more professional knowledge about the subject to the trainee. It will helps the trainee to improve his productivity and also make him more uptodate to face the emerging challenges.

A testing set is the mechanism used to evaluate knowledge of the candidate. It is exercised to check the professional merit of the candidate or the application and there by to find out the areas of weakness or defects . In case of product ike software test is used before the its loaded to the system as a pilot software. Testing is a quality checking process. in case of products the testing  helps to avoid more losses by way that the dects will be traced out before it is delivered to the enduser , if any such defects exist .

They should be differentiated on the aspect that on the first step in training it aims to share or make trainee potentially capable to meet challenges. But in the other step of testing it evaluate, how much knowledge is acquired by the trainee during the training process provided.

The same set cant be used for both purposes. The training set is a exlanatory model which explains or teach the candidate to improve his knowledge. The testing set includes questions or evaluations to find out the competence of the candidate or product.

We are interested in understanding if there is a difference between the consumption of personal training between two of our tapestry segments. Segment 1 uses personal training 6.3 times on average per year (n=1000). Segment 2 uses personal training 5.8 times on average per year (n=850). The standard deviation for segment 1 is 2.3 and for segment 2 is 3.2. Is this a significant difference? Why or why not? Assume we are looking for 99% significance.
