Advantages:

• These jobs offers a variety of fields to the aspirants. It could be hospital, childcare, geriatric care, women empowerment, military, schools etc. The field of social work is vast as this service is required in every social settings of the society.
• These jobs offers a secure work environment for the workers, also, it gives a high job satisfaction. The workplaces are social settings hence, it guarantees a secure environment for the workers, and also, the feeling that one is helping others to be have equal participation to contribute to the development of the society gives a sense of satisfaction in job.
• The career in the field of social work offers ample opportunities of development. The hard work dedication in the work gives ample opportunities of growth and development in this sector.

Disadvantages

• These jobs are emotionally exhausting. As sometimes the difficult circumstances are not easy to deal with when it drains out the emotions of the social workers itself. Being the part of same society makes the social workers to engage their own emotions into the various situations of their clients, these sometimes are very stressful for them.
• As job satisfaction that this field provide, financially this field does not provide that much satisfaction. This field is not as earning as other fields. The average income of the social workers are less compared to others.
• As this field requires a lot of paperworks and field works, this field has one of the most workload. This makes the job very stressful and overloaded.
