Expert Solution

The cold war was the result of world war second in which world has divided into two poles of powers, cold war was the result of contemporary conditions and mistrust between nations. After the WW 2nd, USSR and US were remarked as super powers and they were trying to influence other countries the different ideologies and different administration supported the era of cold war.

In my opinion, reason behind the cold war were mistrust and different ideologies which influenced world system.

Cold war could be prevented if the trust building had been occurred between two nations. Russian believed that late entry of America in WW II caused deaths of thousands of Russian soldiers. While America was threaten by communist ideology and Russian power in Eastern Europe, these cause made lack of trust and conspiracies it resulted cold war.

The cold war could have been stopped if the UN and UNSC worked as their ideology of peace building but they failed to attain their responsibility and world experienced threat of nuke war and mass destruction.
