Answer: Yes the concerns of those opposing the admittance of Turkey into the EU are well founded. There are many contradictions that exist between the teachings of Islam, capitalism and Globalization. One of the glaring examples of this fact that comes is from the prohibition of earning interest on capital on the followers of Islam. In Islam earning profit by earning interest on the capital is “Haram” or prohibited hence a follower of Islam will not invest in the instruments where source of earnings is interest gained. Such restrictions are contrary to the nature of capitalism and globalization that promotes free trade and free flow of capital without any restrictions. Apart from this there are many gender based restrictions in Islam on working of Women that are evident not only in Middle East but also among st all the other Islamic countries.   These are also not compatible with the concept of capitalism and Globalization that promotes no restrictions on talent. Similarly many other cultural and financial teachings and practices of Islam which is practiced in Turkey can act as a problem if it is included in E.U.
