A consulting company wants to analyze data about ‘AgeGroups’ and the use of different‘Social Media’ platforms. This data was obtained by checking the various social media platforms and randomly selecting the users and asking them to indicate their age groups. The results would be used in recommending the nature of promotional pop-ups which appear when using the various platforms.

  1. The consulting company wants to find if the ‘AgeGroups’ and ‘SocialMedia’ are statistically independent. Specify the ‘null’ and ‘alternate’ hypothesis.

  2. You can use Minitab to do the data analysis.

  3. Perform the required test manually and draw the appropriate conclusion.

  4. Test the hypothesis that the 5 age groups A1 to A5 have a social media

    participation rate of respectively 20%, 25%, 25%, 20% and 10%.
