Why international students are more likely having harder majors than U.S students.

a.Describe all variables involved and classify them.Additionallyspecify which variable is the response variable and which variable is the explanatory variable.

b.Explain what type of project you can be doing survey, study or experiment. Then: -If you are going to use a survey then explain the process. How is this surveyed population representative of your entire population? Are there any potential sources of bias? Inculude a copy of the survey as an appendix. -If you are doing a study type(retrospective/prospective), population of the interest and sampling frame. Additionally explain the process by which you randomly select one sample, the topic being studied and how you will evaluate the parameter of interest.

c.Submit a copy of the data you collected. This should be an organised list of your raw data.

Solutions

Expert Solution

1.) It is basically a research question so i will generate a framework so as you can conduct the survey and collect variables accordingly, so here is the process of asking the right question,

Exploratory variables that should be looked at is difficulties an international student face while studying in U.S are

1.) Cultural shock

2.) Different Study Patterns from their native country

3.) Different grading system

4.) Stiff competition from people from different countries(could be included)

Response Variable will be acaedmic scores or Gpa scores

This can be conducted and researched with these variables

This has to be an observational study as you have to collect data based on these variables as it will be less expensive and be more representation.

We have to collect not only the data of international students but as well as the U.S students to compare two groups for this study to prove the nature of the study hence the sample has to be representative of the whole demographics of the students so sample should be collected for the both the groups on these variables, hence to compare the growth of the two studying major groups,no because students can be easily distinguisable, it is better to collect survey in liable manner for less bias and the questions framed should be equally aligned with the explanatory variables and for comparision use statistical tests to prove or diaspprove the hypothesis
