The four major provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act deals with minimum wage, overtime pay, equal rights and child labor. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is fair major provision employment relationship (Snell, et. al., 2016). The FLSA sets the minimum age and overtime pay standards regulates the employment of the minors. The minimum age rate is set based on the federal level & many of the states have state minimum wage rate. The overtime pay is set as one & one half of the hourly rate for all hours over 40 hours worked per week. Provision of child labor establishes what kind of work are allowed to perform for the youth who are under the age of 18 & what specific age they are allowed to do such jobs. The FLSA also permits employers to pay the training wages - it will be less than federal minimum wages because during training workers are considered as unskilled labors. The last provision of FLSA was amended in 1963 is equal pay. for me this is important provision of FLSA. Irrespective of gender, race , ethnicity, nationality etc. workers who performs same work as another person should have the right to get paid same as their coworker. Though the Equal Pay Act of 1963 , particularly prohibits the unequal pay between the men and women doing the same work as per FLSA.
