There is no doubt in the fact that for an organization it is of
utmost importance to ensure that political infighting is completely
stopped and focus should not be on short-termism for the following
reason:
- It creates an unhealthy working environment which hampers the
productivity
- If the company is eyeing long-term benefits then short-termism
is a big No
- There should be clarity in objectives and command and a single
line of command would result in much better output.
- The major concentration shifts from long-term benefits to
short-term benefits which is not a positive sign for the
company.
- A conducive work environment is not created because of
short-termism and political infighting.
Many aspects can be set right to ensure that a healthy
organizational culture is created:
- Single chain of command so that there is no ambiguity in the
directions and objectives.
- Feedback from employees is encouraged so that they also feel
respected.
- Rewards and recognition is a must.
